Redux

According to Blogger, I am the owner/contributor of/to 30+ weblogs. Maybe things have gotten a bit out of hand?

(though who am I kidding?--hosted on blogspot, all of this content is owned and policed by the Google Overlord. I should probably go through the archives and save/print whatever previous writing I actually care about. But do I care about any of it? I don't know. It's always been a social activity. The writing has been a sharing and not a keeping. I'm proud of some of it, but I wouldn't care if it all disappeared any more than the inescapable disappearance of all of the conversations I've had throughout my life; the impossibility of holding onto any of it does not make any of it worthless.)

I joined blogger/blogspot 15 years ago. My first post was November 6th, 2003. I started blogging regularly about a year later in August of 2004.

My first blog predated the rise of social media, MySpace and Facebook and Twitter. I've never felt comfortable on those platforms.

So here I am, back on Blogger with a personal blog. A new one, but more connected to my first one (Trawlerman's Song) than any of those in between (the last ten years).

I'm going to abandon all previous blogs-- film blogs and book blogs and whatever else (I briefly had a blog devoted to songs/poetry/advertisements about cigarette smoking) and use this blog address for everything for the next year. Like my very first blog, this blog will be about anything I want it to be about. There will be film reviews. There will be book quotes. There will likely even be songs about cigarettes (it has been five days since my last smoke). There will be bad photos and stories about children. And so on. Whatever I want.

I'm going to commit to at least one post a week. It will probably be much more than that, but no less.
